Tough Engineering Challenge at a Complex Combining Business and Commerce

The BIG complex at Glilot Junction includes a two-storey commercial structure over which two 45-50 storey business towers rise. The complex contains 4,000 parking spaces and public areas covering a total of 4,500 sq.m..

On the construction site, Base Pile has carried out slurry wall shoring, excavation, foundation and ground anchor installation works. The complex infrastructure works covered an enormous area of about 44 dunams, entailing the excavation of some 2,000 cu.m. of soil. The shoring works were performed by means of 80 cm. wide slurry walls excavated to a depth of 32 metres, as well as foundation works carried out using piles. The works lasted about eighteen months and were teeming with engineering challenges, including the need to pump out groundwater in certain areas.

Works on the construction site were implemented using the Company’s fleet of advanced excavator cranes, operated by skilled and experienced professionals while thoroughly profiling the ground conditions.
