Shoring, Excavation and Foundation Works in Complex Field Conditions
The Yavne Hi-Tech Park complex includes 3 central 16 storey-high structures extending over a total area of some 80,000 sq.m. built over a 4-level underground car park containing 1,736 parking spaces.
On the construction site, Base Pile has carried out excavation works to a depth of about 14 metres over an approximately 8 dunams area, in the course of which around 300 thousand cu.m. of soil were excavated. The slurry shoring walls were about 60 cm. thick, having been excavated to a depth of 25 metres. The works were carried out using foundation piles and CFA stabilisation piles, and in their course 300 temporary ground anchors were used together with 53 permanent ground anchors for load distribution while shoring walls were being built up from piles. The project was implemented close to old structures and Israel Railways tracks, which confronted the field crews with complicated engineering challenges.
To prevent collapse of the excavation walls, Base Pile applied the Bentonite and dry techniques offering an optimum solution for laying building foundations, especially in congested or challenging site conditions..
