Base Pile Ltd. has carried out support, excavation, anchor setting and foundation works at the 1000 Complex in Western Rishon LeZion combining office blocks with commercial, recreation and leisure areas. 3 office blocks are currently being erected in the complex, two of which are to serve as the Phoenix Company campus.

Underground works in the heart of the new 1,000 Complex

Within the compound, located at the centre of the 1000 Complex, 3 prestigious office blocks are under construction - two of them, 7 and 9 storeys high and covering an area of some 53,000 sq.m., will serve as the Phoenix Company’s headquarters campus. In addition, a 20 storey high office block is to be built over an area of about 52,000 sq.m. The buildings are erected over an underground car park with an area of around 92,000 sq.m.    

Within the building site area Base Pile has carried out extensive excavation operations. Support and foundation works were based on piles of various diameters in the range of 1.1 - 1.3 m., as well as by means of slurry walls enabling waterproofing of the car park and reduction of the volume of water having to be pumped for the construction work to proceed. Various types of anchors were installed in the ground providing for deepening the excavation for the underground car parks.  

To keep the excavation sides from collapsing Base Pile used the Bentonite and dry techniques offering an optimum solution for building foundation, particularly in dense and challenging urban local conditions such as those characterising the present project. The field operations were carried out using the Company’s fleet of advanced digging cranes operated by professionals with high engineering skills capable of carrying out a comprehensive survey of the ground conditions to ensure the highest quality, safety and efficiency standards .
