Underground works adjacent to an operational kindergarten

The prestigious residential complex situated in the heart of the Bavli neighbourhood includes 2 X 7-storey apartment blocks and a car park, erected as part of a TAMA (National Outline Plan) 38/2 project for demolition and reconstruction.

On the site Base Pile has carried out foundation works using slurry walls as well as groundwater lowering with the aim of adjusting and controlling the water table to enable construction under dry conditions. As an urban renewal project, the teams in the field encountered unique challenges in all matters concerning the handling of underground infrastructures - dealing with construction in a dense urban area necessitating complex traffic layouts, close vicinity within a few centimetres of an active kindergarten, as well as special soil conditions involving soft ground and closeness to groundwater.
